I currently work at Bristol Maritime Academy as a freelance powerboat RYA level 2 instructor. To become an instructor I had to demonstrate I had a high level of knowledge for the sea, and attend a 3 and a half day intensive course where everything from my teaching style to my ability to handle a boat to my ability to handle inexperienced clients in a high powered craft were assessed.
I am part of the water safety team for Blueprint Marine Ltd which provides water safety boats, scaffolding, pontoons and personnel in marine construction industries. I have had the opportunity to work in different locations over the country for varying lengths of time where I aid surveyors move around water and to work around bridges over water where either construction is taking place and provide safety.
Following a summer one-
A 2 week work experience placement working in the Valuation & Commercial Agency departments. During this time I accompanied on commercial viewings, property inspections and client meetings. I also compiled valuation reports which required me to use websites and software such as Promap, EGi, CoStar and Argus Investor.
My RICS accredited course focuses on valuations, property management, landlord and tenant disputes, agency, examination and evaluation of buildings and professional practice in property.
